Artful Identity

Identity reintegration is often an overlooked step in the processing of trauma, loss or grief. While art therapy helps many people manage their grief, the question of "who am I now?" often lingers.
Alicia Seymour uses art therapy directives to guide clinicians' work with identity reintegration and exploration. The book explores the intersections of trauma, grief, loss and identity and draws on empirical identity models such as Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Dialogical Self Theory, Social Interactionism and Labeling Theory and reveals how they can inform identity concerns after grief.
This book practically addresses an often missed and important stage in the full processing of trauma, loss, and grief. An essential resource for grief counsellors, trauma counsellors and art therapists who need guidance professionally or those wanting to engage with personal exploration on a healing journey.
